Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes June 25, 2024 12:00 PM Attending Members: Ryan Lowrie, Chair Linda Curtis, Vice Chair Lynne Hutton Joyce Melvin-Jones Karen Scott Andrew Wilson Staff Members: Visitors: Terri Vander Vennet, Director Charlie Gardner, Deputy Director Absent: Matt Joyner, Woody Newman, Brad Young, Bob Boester, Emeritus Ben Naidorf, Legal Call to Order and Approval of Minutes: The meeting was called to order at 12:03 PM by Chairman Lowrie. A motion was made by Ms. Hutton to approve the May 28, 2024 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Ms. Curtis and passed unanimously. Chair Report: No Report. Chair Lowrie provided information on WNRN, a new radio station outside of Charlottesville that plays alternative, indie, and rock and host a one-hour Grateful Dead show each Saturday. Director Report: Ms. Vander Vennet provided an update on the Hampton Jazz & Music Festival and gave an update on past events. Chairman Lowrie and Ms. Scott shared their experience attending the Pretty Lights EDM show. Committee discussed Party on the Plaza event and impact heard as far as Riverdale neighborhood. The Coliseum’s Staff Comp Ticket policy was shared, with the desire to institute a policy for committee members. Ms. Hutton shared the workings of the “green card” that was once used and committee discussed the potential of implementing a similar program.
