Use Permit Application No. 18-00013: This is a use permit application by the Trustees of Wesley United Methodist Church to permit a commercial day care 2 in conjunction with a church at 2510 & 2512 N. Armistead Avenue, which is at the northeast corner of the intersection with Tide Mill Lane. [LRSNs: 7001643 & 7001642]. The property is currently zoned One Family Residential (R-11) District, which allows for a commercial day care 2 subject to an approved use permit. The Hampton Community Plan (2006, as amended) recommends public/semipublic uses for this site. Copies of documents or information concerning this proposal may be obtained from the Community Development Department located in City Hall at 22 Lincoln Street or from Corey Block, 757-727-6077 or corey.block@hampton.gov. B. Use Permit Application No. 19-00004: This is a use permit application by Mellen Street Properties LLC for the property at 110 & 118 E. Mellen Street [LRSN: 12001341 & 1201340] to allow for a proposed boundary line adjustment. The property is zoned Phoebus Towne (PH-2) District which permits modification of development standards as required by the City of Hampton Zoning Ordinance Section 8-63 (3) subject to an approved use permit. Specifically, this application proposes a boundary line adjustment which would result in 118 E. Mellen Street not meeting the requirement that the building façade occupy a minimum of 75% of the front setback line. The Hampton Community Plan (2006, as amended) recommends mixed uses for this site. The public is invited to attend meetings and to observe the work and deliberations of the Planning Commission. The public may also address the Planning Commission on public hearing items by signing up to speak. Public hearing sign-up sheets will be available until the specific item is reached during the course of the meeting. Speakers will be recognized in the order in which they sign up and are asked to state their name and address, to limit their comments to 3 minutes, and to avoid repeating comments made by previous speakers.
