PENINSULA STADIUM AUTHORITY Minutes from May 7th, 2018 The meeting was called to order by Jim Wilson, Chair. Others in attendance included: Wayne Gomes, Linda Williams, Sallie Marchello, Lola Perkins, Brenda Stokes, Pat Uribes and Randy Price for the Board. Henry Morgan, Hank Morgan from Community Baseball. Michael Allen from the Apprentice School. Two representatives from SignMedia, Inc. came to the meeting to show us a demonstration of the digital sign. Jim asked us all to go outside to see the presentation. The sign would stay in the confines of the existing sign. Fabrication time is approximately 4-5 weeks. Motion was made by Randy to purchase the sign, not to exceed $60,000 based on Option 4 (10MM pixels) with a few corrections to the proposal and look into getting the 10yr warranty vs the 5yr warranty that comes with it. Pat seconded and the motion was approved by the Committee. Meeting minutes from April 2, 2018 were approved by Pat, Sallie seconded, motion was approved by the Committee. Sallie gave the Treasurers report. The current balance is $123,566. Expenses not yet paid amount to $54,355. The cost for the Wifi Infrastructure will be $40,850.14. At our last meeting we approved a limit of $40,000. Sallie motioned to increase this amount by $850.14, Pat seconded and the motion was approved by the Committee. We have a remaining balance of $69,211. Updates on current improvements: Ditch work has been completed by the City of Hampton. A "Deed of Gift" has been drawn up between Peninsula Stadium Authority (War Memorial) and the City of Hampton, VA, deeding the parcel on Kentucky Ave, lot containing 56,611 sf (1.2996 acre), dedicated for variable width Right of Way, to the City of Hampton. Motion was made by Randy to accept the Transfer of property to the City of Hampton, Sallie seconded and the motion was approved by the Committee. I-Beam: (Jim) The cross section boards at the top of the stands between each I-beam section, around the top of the stands under the overhang areas, need to be replaced for safety reasons. Boards will be replaced by tubing and chain link fence. The specifications will cost $4000. Jim asked for approval to spend $4000 for the specifications. Pat made a motion to approve, Randy seconded and the motion was approved by the Committee. Directional Signs: Randy had a sign made up to show us as an example to be used at strategic locations throughout Hampton. Need to find out the cost. Randy will bring a City of Hampton map to the next meeting and find out the cost for the signs. New Building Status: Left Field Pavilion-Jim will be finalizing a meeting the end of this week and will put the building out to Bid by the end of this month, beginning of next month. Then the contract will be awarded and the construction should start by the Fall. Parking lot: (Jim) Drain lines will be done by Pembroke Construction this month. Underground piping and conduit for future lighting of the parking lot. Once this is done, Basic Construction will be doing the asphalt parking lot at a cost of $265,000. Scheduled to be done, weather permitting, by the opening of the Pilots Season. Henry and Hank talked about the Pilots Opening Season, gave us a briefing on some of the team players. The Schedule is now online. Tickets can be purchased online as well. Meeting was adjourned by Jim. Next meeting will be June 4th, 2018 at noon.
