Jim W. met with Tracy Joyner, Insurance Manager with Towne Insurance, last week in regards to updating the insurance policy for the Stadium. Jim had several questions that Tracy was not able to answer and therefore a new representative has been assigned to the Stadium policy. The new account representative for our policy will be Trevor Topping. He is familiar with Stadium insurance policies and will be working up a new quote. Trevor will be getting in touch with Jim to go over the insurance details and Joe Sanders, Risk Management Officer for the City of Hampton, will be with Jim for this meeting. Jim W. and Joe also met with Nora Pierce, Virginia Risk Sharing Assoc., ( she is with a firm that the City of Hampton deals with) to get a second opinion about the insurance policy. Jim W. met with City Officials on Jan. 23rd to discuss his concerns about the delays on the New Building. Asst. City Manager, Brian Deprofrio, was also there and will be following up with Public Works and Richie-Curbow Construction to find out what some of the concerns were surrounding the delays. The delays have caused a delay relating to Community Baseball LLC. leasing and negotiations with the Apprentice School. The New Building is supposed to be completed in March. During the meeting Jim asked if the City could address the standing water situation on the 3rd Base side, on the Plaza in front of the concession stand. Jim took some pictures to share with them. They will follow up with Ron Sterling, Senior City Engineer. Outfield fence work has been completed and waiting for the final invoice from Rosenbaum. Fence top and centerfield padding-Henry has not received the estimate yet, should be getting it in the next couple of days. He will be able to share that with us at our next meeting. Jim met with the Pilots in regards to batting cage improvements. They are waiting on some concrete to be poured in order to finish it up. Henry is also looking into some estimates to replace the washer and dryer in the locker room. He will get those to us at our next meeting. Frank and Jim G. met with Henry to discuss the Tiki Tavern. Frank gave us an estimate of $27,335 for the foundation, walls, floor, roof & gutters. This does not include the electrical work. With the electrical work, the estimate is around $30,000. He does not have any drawings at this time. Randy motioned for the Sub-Committee to proceed with the preliminary drawings and necessary information needed in order to get the work permit from the City of Hampton. Brenda seconded that motion and it was approved by the Committee. Jim W. asked us to think about Inside Stadium needs. We need to focus on completing the needs involving the baseball players and referees in order to make our Stadium attractive to visiting teams. He mentioned the 1st Base side needs to upgrade the locker room and restrooms with ADA accommodations’ and Family facilities. More discussions on this topic at the next meeting. No New Business to discuss. Meeting was adjourned by Jim W. Our next meeting will be on March 2nd.
