Peninsula Stadium Authority Minutes March 2nd, 2020 The meeting was called to order by Jim Wilson, Chair. Others in attendance included: Randy Price, Jim Goodbody, Kiufordis Khasidis, Sallie Marchello, Lola Perkins, Pat Uribes and Linda Williams. Representing Community Baseball were Henry Morgan, Alex Ahl and John Wheeler. A motion was made by Randy to accept the February Minutes as written, seconded by Kiufordis and approved by the Committee. No change to the Treasurers report since our last meeting. Jim W. wanted to recognize the passing of Danny Mitchell. He spent many years working with the Peninsula Pilots. Entryway building – Jim met with the Contractor last week and was told that they would be turning it over to the City of Hampton in April. Stadium Insurance Policy – Jim W. and Joe Sanders met with Trevor, from Towne Insurance. Trevor is in the process of finalizing the policy. Proposed Plaque – Jim W. will meet with City Officials to get the correct wording for the plaque so that it can be ordered soon. He will keep us posted. 3rd Base Plaza Deck Project (Tiki Tavern) – Frank was not able to attend the meeting but sent an email to Jim W. with the status of the project. Frank went to the Permits Office in Hampton and was told that we will need two permits: Building permit and an Electrical permit. He was also told that the process would take a lengthy number of days for approval by several departments. Based on this information, it was decided to put this project on hold until the Fall of 2020. The paperwork will be in progress this Spring that way the work can get started at the end of the baseball season. Follow up discussions on Winter Projects: Washer & Dryer replacements would require upgraded electrical work, possibly a gas line run to the building for Commercial Units. Appliances needed for Concession in New Building and Washer & Dryer will be discussed further at our next meeting. Lola met with Ron Sterling last week and discussed several issues. 1) Elevator is on site but still waiting on Elevator Company to come and install it. 2) Discussions about changes to the rolling doors, Henry says they’ll live with it as it is, so, no changes. 3) City of Hampton is looking into the Concourse drainage issue. The design work will be roughly $28,000 and will take a couple of months. Still looking into it. Meeting was adjourned by Jim W. Our next meeting will be April 6th, 2020.
