Treasurers report had no changes to it. The balance is $80,378.34. Entryway Building – Concession is open but only able to sell drinks at this time. Waiting for more kitchen equipment to be installed. Insurance Policy Update – Jim W. notified the insurance company at the end of May to update the current policy. There is a balance due of $2875.97 to cover the Stadium through August when the policy renews. Jim is working on getting quotes from other insurance companies. A motion was made by Randy to pay the balance of the insurance premium due, Linda seconded the motion and it was approved by the Committee. Community Baseball Update – Pilots started the Season on Friday, July 3rd. They had a successful opening with 757 in attendance, (not including parents of players). Twenty-five to thirty percent came with a mask on and about 10 percent kept the mask on. Tournament Baseball is going well. Henry estimated 245-250 hotel rooms were booked in Hampton as a result of the tournaments. Colleges are requiring players to self quarantine 2 weeks prior to school starting, therefore 4 of the players will be going home soon, making it a short season. Will probably have to have someone man the elevator so that children will not play with it. The artificial turf inside the new building has not been installed yet. The Game Schedule has been updated for the 2020 Season. Jim W. informed us that lightning hit the Outfield recently and is looking into the possibility of having lightning rods installed. Dedication of the New Building will be postponed until 2021 and plan to invite past Committee Members of the Peninsula Stadium Authority to attend. Election of the Officers for 2020-2021 term – Randy made a motion with a Slate of Officers as follows: Chair-Jim Wilson, Treasurer-Frank Feagan and Secretary-Linda Williams. The motion was seconded by Frank and approved by the Committee. Old Business – Lola and Frank will continue to work on the exact wording for the Resolution thanking the Peninsula Pilots for their efforts during this Covid-19 Season and it will be presented at the August meeting. New Business – Randy would like to see the Clock on top of the Scoreboard changed by painting the clock to look like a baseball since the clock does not work and hasn’t worked for some time now. Frank made a motion to create a Resolution to thank Jim Wilson for all his efforts as the Chairperson for the PSA and it reads like this: The Peninsula Stadium Authority thanks and commends James Wilson for his faithful and determined leadership as Chairman of the Peninsula Stadium Authority for the past_______years, and his support of improvements to the Peninsula War Memorial Stadium over the past____years. Linda seconded the motion and it was approved by the Committee. Lola will work on the Resolution. Jim W. adjourned the meeting. Our next meeting will be Monday, August 3rd.
