Peninsula Stadium Authority Minutes December 7th, 2020 The meeting was called to order by Jim Wilson, Chair. Others in attendance included: Randy Price, Wayne Gomes, Jim Goodbody, Frank Feagan, David McCauley, Brenda Stokes, Sallie Marchello, Lola Perkins and Linda Williams from the Board. Absent from the meeting was Kiufordis Khasidis. Henry Morgan and Alex Ahl represented Community Baseball. The November Minutes were approved by Jim G., seconded by Randy and accepted by the Committee. The Treasurers report was presented with no changes since our last meeting. Randy made a motion to submit the Treasurers report to file for audit, Brenda seconded the motion and it was approved by the Committee. Jim W. informed us that in the future, the Stadium Insurance will be paid for directly by the City of Hampton. Audit process for the Treasurers Report - Jim has spoken with Beth Moore & Associates out of Newport News. He, Frank and Sallie will be meeting with their contact person, Lisa Candella to get an estimate. Jim has already received one estimate and will be looking to get one more to satisfy Procurement. Fall/Winter Stadium Projects – Hampton City Council will be meeting at the Stadium on Wednesday, Dec. 9th at 9:00 am, to do a walk through of the Stadium. Board members are welcomed to attend. Henry received a letter from the Apprentice School stating they have not yet seen the laundry facilities improved as per their agreement with their contribution of $7500. They are going to be meeting on Wed, Dec. 9th, to discuss whether or not to continue using the War Memorial Stadium. Jim G. suggested that Henry get in touch with Ames Cleaners to see about purchasing a washer and dryer since they have recently closed one of their locations. There are some plumbing and electrical issues that would need to be addressed in order to improve the laundry facilities. Henry reported that the decking has been torn off of the picnic area and shortly after the 1st of the year the deck will be replaced. Jim G. suggested that Henry get in touch with Treated Lumber Outlet to get an estimate on the lumber needed. Henry will be getting some estimates to replace the Batters Eye. Sallie made a motion to ask Community Baseball to get 3 estimates to complete the Batting Cage area, Frank seconded the motion and it was approved by the Committee. Alex reported that there is an issue with a light not working on one of the tall poles. He has been in touch with Ron Sterling who recommended that he contact Richie Curbow to see about correcting the problem. During the construction, a line was cut, they repaired it, but the problem may still be coming from that incident. They will have to investigate it in order to correct it. Jim G. made a motion that Henry and Staff should make the final decisions about how they want to handle to parking lot barricade situation and inform Public Works about their decision. Sallie seconded the motion and it was approved by the Committee. Henry informed us that the first baseball events will be in February 2021 and that they are booked solid until Thanksgiving 2021. Committees for Projects 1. Dedication of the New Building to be held in the Spring 2021. Brenda and Wayne would like to work on this. 2. Evaluating the possibility of creating Historical Markers, Displays and or location to display Historical Events that have occurred at War Memorial Stadium. Sallie would like to work on this. 3. War Memorial Stadium Capital Improvement Projects for Future Consideration. Frank and Jim G. would like to work on this. New Business: Henry would like to have 1-2 additional ball fields in the City of Hampton to use. This would greatly help their business with the traveling teams. Wayne suggested using High School fields. Henry would also like to have LED lights for the Scoreboard. The meeting was adjourned by Jim W. Our next meeting will be Monday, January 4th, 2021

Approval of the November 2, 2020 meeting Minutes Review of the Treasurers Report Update on the Insurance process for the reimbursement and future payments for next year. Audit Process discussion. Consideration for Hiring Beth Moore & Associates from Newport News. Lisa Candella will be our point of contact. Discussion of the approval and funding of possible fall / Winter War Memorial Stadium projects. Repair work and Material for the Batters Eye. Labor support to complete the inside of the Batting Cage. Concession Items. Field Contractor Ground Maintenance Program. Washer & Dryer for the Locker Room. Additional Considerations from the Stadium Authority. Note of Projects that will be funded by the City of Hampton during the Winter / Spring time frame. Parking lot Gates, Installation of Barricades on the First Base Side by the Office Building and the Third base side by the old Concession building. Installation of Lighting protection in the Stadium, for the Light system and the new building. Installing a new drain on the Third Base side in front of the old concession area. Discussion on the process by the P.S.A. with the support of Community Baseball LLC (Peninsula Pilots) for future War Memorial Stadium Capital Improvement projects going to the City of Hampton for the review and approval process. Consideration of the establishment of Committees for the Following Projects: # 1. Dedication of the New Building in the Spring of next year. # 2. The establishment of a Committee of P.S.A. members, Community Baseball Staff and Private Citizens. to look at and evaluate the possibility of establishing; Historical Markers, Displays and or location to display Historical Events that have occurred at War Memorial Stadium. # 3. War Memorial Stadium Capital Improvement Projects for Future Considerations. City of Hampton FY22 Outside Funding Budget Request. New Business. Adjournment Next meeting is scheduled for Monday January 4th at Noon.
