1 AT THE WORK SESSION OF THE WETLANDS BOARD HELD IN THE HARDY CASH 2 CONFERENCE ROOM, 3RD FLOOR, CITY HALL, 22 LINCOLN STREET, HAMPTON, VIRGINIA, 3 ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2016 AT 5: 00 P. M. 4 5 ITEM I. CALL TO ORDER 6 7 Chairman Wood called the meeting to order at 5: 00 p. m. 8 9 ITEM II. ROLL CALL 10 11 A call of the roll noted Board Members Troy Thompson, Laura Burbage, Dr. Arne 12 Hasselquist, Leigh Chapman, Jeff Amick ( Alternate), Carole Garrison ( Alternate), and 13 Chairman William Wood as being present, and Vice Chairman Gayle Cozzens as 14 being absent. Staff in attendance: Deputy City Attorney Veronica Meade, Wetlands 15 Board Coordinator and City Site Plan/ Subdivision Agent II Andrew Griffey, Interim 16 Recording Secretary/ Administrative Assistant Dorinda Weeks, and Mike Johnson of the 17 Virginia Marine Resources Commission. 18 19 ITEM III. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES 20 21 A motion was made by Board Member Chapman and seconded by Alternate Jeff 22 Amick to approve the minutes of the July 28, 2016 Work Session. A roll call vote on the 23 motion resulted as follows: 24 25 AYES: Thompson, Burbage, Chapman, Amick, Garrison, Wood 26 NAYS: None 27 ABSTAIN: Hasselquist 28 ABSENT: Cozzens 29 30 ITEM IV. WORK SESSION 31 32 A final draft of the Coastal Primary Sand Dunes and Beaches Ordinance Resolution 33 was discussed and authored ( see the attached final draft resolution). Mike Johnson of 34 VMRC responded to Board member questions in reference to the Coastal Primary 35 Sand Dunes and Beaches Ordinance Resolution. 36 37 ITEM V.
