Guthrie Memorial Library Board of Governors Meeting June 8, 2023 Attendance: Brett Hoffacker, Nat Fissel, Ryan Bankert, Eric Klansek, Steve Sherman, Bobbi Little, Kristina Rodgers, Barb Eisenhart, Abbey Lukiewski (teams), Sue Frey, Dan Frey, Amy Hill, Andy Smith, and Mark Riggs The meeting was called to order at 12:15 PM by Nat Fissel. Sue Frey was recognized for her service to Friends of the Library. Three members of the Friends came to recognize Sue for her dedication. Approval of May 2023 Minutes: Approved with a motion by Mark Riggs, and a second by Bobbi Little. Committee Reports: Nominating: No Report Fundraising/Annual Campaign: Reminder about the Annual Appeal. Honors: A meeting was held today. October 29, 2-4 PM @ Bare Center honoring Bobbi Little and Andy Hoffman. Invitations will be sent out for the event in the coming weeks. Report of the Director: A report was sent out by Ryan. The library will be participating in Main Street Hanover this upcoming Saturday, June 10th. HPLA Finance Commission: The most recent financial statements were sent out. Nothing to note with the portfolio. The Laura Gray distribution happened. It was around $16,000. The Bonnie Stick Estate is being worked on at this time. Borough Manager Report: Amy reported that borough will be moving forward to have the library be self-sustained by 2027. A discussion was held about the hiring of the Director of the Library. The position is being advertised at this time. At the next council meeting, the position of Development/Fundraiser will be decided. YCL: Abbey shared she will no longer be in this position as of June 19th. Friends of the Library: Gratitude was expressed to Sue for everything that she has done over the years. New Business: Barbara Eisenhart shared information regarding the Community Connections publication that was recently mailed to the community. The meeting was adjourned at 12:39 PM. The next meeting is scheduled for July 13, 2023, at 12:15 PM
