VILLAGE OF HANOVER PARK CULTURAL INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY COMMITTEE/COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING Village Hall – Room 214 2121 Lake Street Hanover Park, IL 60133 Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 6:15 p.m. Meeting Minutes AGENDA 1. CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL Meeting called to order at 6:53pm PRESENT: Committee Members: Board Liaison Syed Hussaini, Dennis Haffron, Grace Khan, Adelita Molina Zeier, Gurmeet Singh, Victoria Akinde ABSENT: Committee Members:, Debra McDonald, Jesus Salazar OTHER: Anne Haffron, Barry Kurcz (Staff Liaison) 2. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA Dennis Haffron motioned to accept the agenda: Grace Khan seconded the acceptance Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 3. PRESENTATIONS/ REPORTS: 3-a. None 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 4-a. Dennis Haffron motioned to accept the February 15, 2022 meeting minutes Victoria Akinde seconded the acceptance Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 5. ACTION ITEMS: 5-a. MLK Build Up Day recap Grace Khan provided a recap of event and the general consensus was that it was a successful event with decent attendance despite the weather 5-b. July and August Proclamation ideas  Numerous members suggested ideas for the month of August. There were no suggestions for the month of July. August suggestions included: --Pakistan Independence Day-August 14th --India Independence Day—August 15th --Women’s Right to Vote—August 18th Actual proclamations would be finalized at the next meeting. 6. TOWNHALL SESSION: None 7. OLD BUSINESS (NON-ACTION ITEMS): 7-a. None 8. NEW BUSINESS (NON-ACTION ITEMS): 8-a. Committee requested an update on the Welcoming Ordinance/Resolution at the next meeting. Staff Liaison suggested it be a regular topic under Old Business. 8-b. Grace Khan suggested that move the August meeting to Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 6:30pm and the group concurred. Dennis Haffron suggested that our next meeting be moved to the Tanglewood Community to show our support of a community in need. He inquired about having CIDC “adopt” a group such as the ALIVE program/Teen Center to possibly raise funds for them. 9.
