VILLAGE OF HANOVER PARK CULTURAL INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY COMMITTEE/COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING Village Hall Room 214 2121 W. Lake St. Hanover Park, IL 60133 Wednesday, October 18, 2023 7:00 p.m. Minutes 1. CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Grace Khan at 7:31pm PRESENT: Committee Members:, Grace Khan, Adelita Molina Zeier, Valeria Aguilera, Zach Levy, and Dennis Haffron ABSENT: Committee Members: Board Liaison Liza Gutierrez, Jesus Salazar, Victoria Akinde, and Debra McDonald OTHER: Ann Haffron, Faith Tran, Barry Kurcz (Staff Liaison) 2. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA Zach Levy motioned to accept the agenda minus item 5-b Valeria Aguilera seconded the acceptance. Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 3. PRESENTATIONS/ REPORTS: 3-a. None 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 4-a. Approval of September 12, 2023 Meeting Minutes Dennis Haffron motioned to accept the agenda: Valeria Aguilera seconded the acceptance. Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 5. ACTION ITEMS: 5-a. Celebrating Holidays Around the World Staff Liaison provided an update on registration information including an announcement and QR Code. Chairperson Grace Khan then noted that she still needed to create the flyer. The committee then created the final flyer together after several attempts. Brief discussion took place about having a thank you gift mug or tumbler to be given out at “thank you reception” for participants on January 16th. Zack motioned to accept the flyer as presented (most recent version) Valeria Aguilera seconded the motion Roll Call Vote—All Ayes Motion Carried 6. TOWNHALL SESSION: Persons wishing to address the public body must register prior to Call to Order. Please note that public comment is limited to 5 minutes per speaker. 7. OLD BUSINESS (NON-ACTION ITEMS): 7-a. All reminded to distribute the flyer for the upcoming event. 8. NEW BUSINESS (NON-ACTION ITEMS): 8-a. Chairperson Khan recommended that the next meeting be held on Monday, November 20th since it was Thanksgiving week. Staff Liaison Kurcz recommended that we have food brought in for that meeting. Zen Ramen was suggested. 9. ADJOURNMENT Dennis Haffron motioned to adjourn Adelita Molina Zeier seconded the motion Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried Meeting adjourned at 8:40 pm.
