VILLAGE OF HANOVER PARK CULTURAL INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY COMMITTEE/COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING Village Hall Room 214 2121 W. CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL Meeting was called to order by Chairperson Zach Levy at 6:24pm PRESENT: Committee Members: Adelita Molina Zeier, Valeria Aguilera, Chairperson Zach Levy, Grace Khan, Board Liaison Liza Gutierrez ABSENT: Committee Members: Jazsmin Lopez, Victoria Akinde, and Dennis Haffron OTHER: Barry Kurcz (Staff Liaison) 2. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA Grace Khan motioned to accept the agenda Adelita Molina Zeier seconded the acceptance. Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 3. PRESENTATIONS/ REPORTS: 3-a. None 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 4-a. Approval of June 18, 2024 Meeting Minutes Adelita Molina Zeier motioned to accept the minutes Valeria Aguillera seconded the acceptance. Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 5. ACTION ITEMS: 5-a. Hispanic Heritage Month event recap Consensus was that the event went very well and was well attended. The location at the Park District was ideal for the event and was recommended to utilize again next. Discussion included maybe not doing both speakers and entertainment next time---choosing one or the other.  5-b. 2025 Meeting Dates and Event Dates Selected meeting dates as follows: Month Date January 1/21/2025 February 2/18/2025 March 3/18/2025 April 4/15/2025 May 5/20/2025 June 6/17/2025 July Off August 8/5/2025 September 9/16/2025 October 10/21/2025 November 11/18/2025 December 12/16/2025 Events include: January – Holocaust Remembrance Proclamation February—Black History Month Proclamation March – Women in Our Community Proclamation May 17th – MLK Build Up Day 9am-noon; location TBD & partner with Environmental Committee June—Support Sister Cities Juneteenth Event TBD August 22nd—Hanover Park Cultures Through the Ages Event -6-8pm & partner with Historic Committee October 10th – Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration 6-8pm at Park District location December – Support the Holiday Celebration of the Park District Valeria Aguillera motioned to accept the Meeting dates and Events Adelita Molina Zeier seconded the acceptance. Roll Call Vote – All Ayes Motion Carried 6. TOWNHALL SESSION: Persons wishing to address the public body must register prior to Call to Order.
