CITY COMMON COUNCIL OF HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA SPECIAL MEETING NOVEMBER 21, 2022 MEETING MINUTES CALL TO ORDER & WELCOME: Mayor Eckstein called to order a meeting of the Common Council of the City of Hartford City at 5:30pm November 21, 2022. ROLL CALL: Members of the council present were Ron Dudelston, Ron Parrott, Tony Scaggs, Michael Wolfe, and Dustin George. Also in attendance were Mayor Dan Eckstein, Attorney Brandon Murphy, and Clerk-Treasurer, Dana Whatley. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Mr. Scaggs made a motion to approve the agenda as submitted. Mr. George seconded the motion. The vote to approve was 5-0. SENIOR CITIZEN’S CENTER HVAC DISCUSSION: Mayor Eckstein provided two quotes to replace the HVAC in the Senior Citizen’s Center. PK Heating & Cooling had the lowest bid. After some discussion, Mr. George made a motion to approve the quote from PK Heating & Cooling. Mr. Scaggs seconded the motion. The vote to approve the quote was 5-0. SALARY ORDINANCE – 2ND READING OF ORDINANCE 2022-09: After some discussion, Mr. Dudelston made a motion to amend Ordinance 2022-09 to add an additional 3% to the current 5% increase already reflected in the Ordinance for a total of 8% for all Police & Fire from Chief down to 1st class officers for the Police Department and from Chief down to 1st class firefighters for the Fire Department. Mr. Scaggs seconded the motion. The vote to amend Ordinance 2022-09 was taken via roll call: Mr. Dudelston – YAY Mr. Parrott – YAY Mr. Scaggs – YAY Mr. George – NAY Mr. Wolfe - NAY Mr. Dudelston made a motion to approve the 2nd reading of the amended Ordinance 2022-09. Mr. Parrott seconded the motion. The vote to approve the 2nd reading of amended Ordinance 2022-09 was taken via roll call: Mr. Dudelston – YAY Mr. Parrott - YAY Mr. Scaggs - YAY Mr. George - NAY Mr. Wolfe - NAY With there being no further business, Mr. Dudelston made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
