MINUTES FINANCE & PERSONNEL COMMITTEE July 9, 2024 6:50pm PRESENT: Chairperson Rusniak, Members Fulop, Webb, and Kohler. ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Steve Volkert and City Clerk Shanna Kreilkamp Call to Order – Chairperson Rusniak called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers of Hartford City Hall, 109 North Main Street. Roll Call – All members were present. Public Comment Period – None. Discussion and consideration of denying the property damage claim submitted by Kiara Green. – City Administrator Volkert informed the Committee that this claim took place during the construction of the sidewalk in Lakeview Acres. He reminded everyone that if you believe you have a claim against the City you must show that the City knowingly and willfully had a damage against your property. In this case the City is not negligent. It is with the recommendation of the Insurance Company that this claim be denied. MOTION by Alderperson Webb, seconded by Alderperson Kohler to deny the property damage claim submitted by Kiara Green. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
