STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING JUNE 19, 2018 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 7:30 P.M. RA, Town Attorney KEVIN CONROY, Town Comptroller Supervisor Gillen asked Councilwoman Goosby to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. Supervisor Gillen asked Councilwoman Goosby to join her at the podium to honor the Uniondale Show Choir, "Rhythm of the Nights". The extremely talented student choir has performed at several competitions including most recently named Grand Champions at the 2018 National competition in Chicago. The choir along with their lead director Annette Carr-Hicks, was presented with a special "Town of Hempstead Tony Award" and congratulated for their achievements. Supervisor Gillen also honored Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter Volunteers: Crissy DeAngelo; Bill Nussbaum; Leslie Braunstein; Mike Maloney for their dedication and commitment, putting in many hours of volunteer work at the shelter. Supervisor Gillen also recognized the Bonomo family who have done a lot for the community.
