Supervisor Clavin asked Deputy Supervisor Goosby to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance
to our flag.
Supervisor Clavin presented a Town of Hempstead citation to Angelina Balestrieri for her courageous
actions after her family suffered a serious car accident. Supervisor Clavin stated that Angelina's calm
demeanor and actions during that life threating accident were impressive, commendable and that the
Town Board members were proud to recognize this brave resident.

Hon. Judge Morano moderated & introduced Alan Hyman, Special Counsel to
the Town ofHempstead in connection with this public hearing. Allan Hyman
presented the Town Board with a booklet of the recommendations made at the
public hearing on January 30, 2024
Mark Lucarelli, Esq. spoke and submitted a letter from Jeffrey Schriber, Esq.
to be made part of the official record.
John Ellsworth ofNelson, Pope, Voorhis made his presentation.
Hon. Judge Marano concluded the public aspect of this hearing, which he had
four recommendations to the Town Board.
1. Keep record open until May 9, 2024, to allow the public additional
time to submit comments regarding this matter.
2. Asked the Town Board to allow Hon. Judge Marano, as hearing officer
until 5/12/2024 to prepare recommendations to the Town Board as use
ofEminent Domain to acquire this parcel after reviewing all of
tonight's evidence as well as any additional comments which may be
received up to May 9, 2024.
3. Asked the Town Board to make and publish its determination &
findings concerning the proposed public project for this property on or
before May 29, 2024, in accordance with Eminent Domain Procedural
Law.
4. Lastly, recommended that a copy of these proceedings should be kept
on file & in the Office of the Nassau County Attorney's Office &
Nassau County Town Attorney's website, Office of the Nassau County
Clerk's Office, 240 Old Country Road, Mineola, NY, the Office of the
Town Attorney, Town ofHempstead, & on the Town ofHempstead's
website, pursuant to Eminent Domain Procedural Law,§ 203.
