RECORDS MANAGEMENT
CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
Mayor Pro Tem March introduced Bill No. 2660 and City Manager Calhoun read
the Bill by title:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HENDERSON,
NEVADA, AMENDING SECTION 2.47.040 THROUGH SECTION 2.47.050;
REVISING THE MEMBERSHIP AND FUNCTIONS OF THE CITY RECORDS
COMMITTEE, AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS RELATING
THERETO.
Sabrina Mercadante, City Clerk, reported that the evolution of the City records
program and associated regulatory requirements necessitates a change in the
functions and membership of the City Records Committee. She said the
Records Committee has approved the recommendation to update the functions
of the Committee and replace the purchasing agent with the risk manager.
Ms. Mercadante said NRS 239.052 states that fees for providing copies of
records must not exceed the actual cost to the government entity to provide the
copy of the public records, unless a specific statute or regulation sets a fee that
the government entity must charge for the copy. In consultation with the City
Attorney's Office, the Records Committee proposed changes to all fees
resulting in decreases to most fees providing copies of records.
