CALL TO ORDER In attendance: John Ryan, Jerry Fitzgerald, Caroline Gunther, Jared Bellmund Staff present: Jamie Carpenter 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. February 2021 Economic Vitality Minutes Jerry Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the February 2021 minutes, Caroline Gunther seconded. John, Jerry, Caroline and Jared voted in favor. 3. NEW BUSINESS 1. Downtown Investment Program Outline J. Carpenter reviewed the program outline which was submitted to the Dogwood Health Trust. In preparation, we discussed what types of needs could be supported with this program and in a comprehensive business support/training program. Training / Downtown Employee support: 1. Parking - FAQ's for businesses regarding parking, a poster for the break area for businesses so employees can have information regarding parking for customers. 2. Safety for downtown employees - Jerry Fitzgerald is planning an employee CPR training with the fire department for Mountain Deli, he is also discussing with the fire department about having a bigger training for downtown employees and businesses. This will help in case of emergency for downtown, but also provide a good opportunity for folks to interact with the fire department. Downtown event/marketing partnership with RingoFire. Staff is working on a lease agreement for the downtown office space. Downtown staff will move to city hall and potentially lease out the space with some in-kind services provided for downtown marketing as well as business support in exchange for reduced rent. 4.
