Planning Board – Long Range Planning Committee 02.22.2022 Minutes of the Planning Board – Legislative Committee Virtual Meeting February 22, 2022 Members Present: Hunter Jones Staff Present: Tyler Morrow, Planner II, Lew Holloway, Community Development Director, Matt Manley, Planning Manager, Alexandra Hunt, Planner and Terri Swann, Administrative Assistant III Start Time: 3:05PM End Time: 4:00PM Long-Range Committee Meeting – RFP Comprehensive Plan Review A meeting was held via Zoom regarding the RFP and comprehensive plan review. Lew Holloway, Community Development Director, gave an update on the process for the comprehensive plan review. Mr. Holloway asked Committee Member, Mr. Jones, (only member present) what he would like to see as part of the comprehensive plan given his experience with parks and recreational centers. Member Jones stated that he would like to see more parks within the city and possibly incorporated within neighborhood designs. Matt Manley, Planning Manager, asked about creating and/or utilizing more open spaces within neighborhoods as parks. Staff and Member Jones discussed the open space requirements and neighborhood design and whether using open space as smaller park areas as pockets within a grouping of homes throughout the planned neighborhood. Mr. Holloway added that the comprehensive plan RFP will be ramped up within the coming months. Notice: This meeting was noticed to the public in accordance with all requirements.
