Minutes June 18, 2024 Motion to Approve: Natalie Wilcoxen Second: Glen Lange Motion Approved 4. NEW BUSINESS A. Public Relations Report - Mary Jo Padgett Ms Padgett gave a presentation describing her duties as the Public Relations Specialist for the board. Some of her duties include: Marketing for the board, a quarterly newsletter, press releases, organizing Tree Board educational opportunities, editing and print work, maintaining the calendar, and producing an annual report to the Council. 5. OLD BUSINESS A. ESB Request for Native Plants Discussion The board would like for the ESB to provide a couple of members to join a committee to discuss ways for the Boards to collaborate on like-minded endeavors. TREE BOARD – July 08, 2024 Page | 1  B. NeighborWoods Ms Wilcoxen visited the Saddle Brook Development and will be signing them up for a NeighborWoods event this fall. C. Discuss Tree Canopy Recommendations Council member Simpson is familiarizing council with the 40 x 2040 canopy coverage concept. D. Urban Forestry Plan Scott Harmon will join the Committee working on the plan and is in the process of analyzing and prioritizing the phased recommendations. 6. OTHER BUSINESS A. Staff Comments Crews are working in Hendersonville, clearing utility lines. The board expressed that they would like to help formulate Urban Development Ordnances or any relevant overlay districts pointed out in the Generation H Comprehensive Plan. The Chairperson will reach out to Community Development. 7.
