City Council Update Ed Skvarch was approved to be a member the Tree Board. His term runs until February, 2027. Annual Budget Discussion Motion to Approve: Glenn Lange Second: Richard Bowerman Motion Approved E. Bradford Pear Bounty Details and logistics of the April 12th event were discussed. Volunteers should arrive at 7:45 F. Arbor Day Celebration Update Mark Stierwalt will reach out to Ms. Henderson at Hendersonville Elementary to pick suitable site and discuss the proposal. G. Tree Ordinance Committee Update Glenn Lange presented the draft Tree Board Ordinance and Bylaws changes fo the board to review and vote on at the April meeting. H. Bee City USA Project Discussion: A new pollinator bed is proposed for the median on Hwy 64 east in front of the Triangle Stop with the hopes that it could one day house a Welcome to Hendersonville sign. I. 2025 Educational Programming and Materials Former board member Mary Davis offered to organize “The tree’s role in a Stream Restoration Project Walk”, with Mike Huffman and a “How to take care of you trees.” Educational Program. 5. OTHER BUSINESS A. Staff Comments 1)Proposed Flag Pole Lots Discussion Motion Against supporting the proposal: Glenn Lange Second: Richard Bowerman Board Member had to leave meeting, thus breaking quorum. Unable to hold vote. TREE BOARD – March 10, 2025 Page | 2  Will Vote on the Topic at the April Meeting. 2) Tree board requested the staff investigate the possibility of entering into a Urban Forester Cooperative with other WNC municipalities. 3) Board requested that the staff lay out tree locations for planting in Clear Creek Confluence area. 4) Scott Harmon and Melody Crawford resigned from the Tree Board for personal reasons. 6.
