CITY OF HIALEAH ELECTED OFFICERS RETIREMENT OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE AGENDA December 6, 2021 A meeting of the Elected Officers Retirement Oversight Committee was called to order Monday, December 6, 2021, at 12:57 p.m., in the Council Chambers 1-Call to Order Roll Call: • Ines Beecher, OMB Director Present. • Marbelys Fatjo, City Clerk Present Also present: • Christopher Chiocca, Finance Director • Alan Krueger, Retired Litigation Attorney • William Grodnick, Retired City Attorney • Grisell Aedo, Retirement Director • Frank Wan, Vice President & Investment Advisor, Burgess Chambers & Associates, Inc. via conference call • Shelly Jones, GRS Consultant via conference call 2-Meeting Minutes of August 2, 2021 Ms. Beecher motioned to approve the minutes and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. 3-Agreement Addendum-Burgess Chambers & Associates Inc. Ms. Beecher motioned to approve the addendum and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. 4-Invoice Approval-Burgess Chamber & Associates Inc. Ms. Beecher motioned to approve the invoice and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. 5-Unfinished Business -GRS Assumption Study -Tabled 8/2/2021 Ms. Beecher motioned to remove from table and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. Mr. Grodnick commented on several recommendations from the assumption study. Ms. Beecher motioned to approve the wage inflation method only and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. 6-New Business -Letter to temporarily stop Mayor Esteban Bovo’s pension Ms. Fatjo motioned to approve Mayor Bovo’s letter and Ms. Beecher seconded the motion. The motion passed. -Application for Elected Official Retirement, Case of: 1) Carlos Hernandez (Mayor’s Office) Ms. Beecher motioned to approve Carlos Hernandez’s Application for Elected Official Retirement and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. 2) Katherine Cue-Fuente (City Clerk) Ms. Beecher motioned to approve Katherine Cue-Fuente’s Application for Elected Official Retirement and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. 3) Paul Hernandez (City Clerk) Ms. Beecher motioned to approve Paul Hernandez’s Application for Elected Official Retirement and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. -Discussion on GRS Engagement Letter Ms. Beecher motioned to approve GRS Engagement letter and Ms. Fatjo seconded the motion. The motion passed. -Discussion of Meeting Dates for 2022 No motion was needed for this item. Next meeting dates are: • February 7, 2022 • May 2, 2022 • August 1, 2022 • November 7, 2022 Any person wishing to appeal any decision made by the committee with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purposes, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
