Lynn Smith “I move for approval of Ordinance No. 130 adopting the Fiscal Year 2024-2025
Annual Budget.” Motion seconded by Don Hagans.
Mayor: During discussion on this item, you need to note, “This budget will raise more property
taxes for maintenance and operation than last year’s rate ($0.1260) from $304,109 (last year) to
$322,136 (this year); there are no property taxes allocated for debt. The total City proposed
property tax rate for FY 2025 is $0.1260 per $100 valuation. The following are data related to the
tax rate for FY 2025: Proposed rate - $0.1260; No new revenue tax rate - $0.1209; Voter-approval
tax rate - $0.1251.

9. Discuss with Possible Action – Ratify the ad valorem total property tax revenue increase for 2024.
Mayor: After passage of the budget because the budget we have just adopted will require raising
more property taxes for maintenance and operation than last year’s rate, we will need to vote to ratify
the tax rate and the resulting total property tax revenue increase.
Don Hagans “I move to ratify the ad valorem rate of .1260 that will provide for a total property tax
revenue increase reflected in the adopted 2024-2025 budget.” Motion seconded by Lynn Smith
