Motion to direct staff to release the April, 2025 contribution to the Citizens Fire Company #1 of Highspire as indicated in the 2025 General Fund Budget (411.500). Amount to be paid to the Company $3,500.00. b. Motion to (approve/reject/table) the successful completion of the One (1) year employment probation period for Highspire Police Officer James V. Nguyen. Officer Nguyen’s probation period concludes on April 16, 2025. c. Motion to (approve/reject/table) the distribution of surplus funds from the 2024 Sewer O&M Budget. Based on calculations by Boyer and Ritter, the total amount of the surplus is $114,190.00, with Lower Swatara Twp. receiving $69,479.00 and the Borough of Highspire receiving $44,711. d. Motion to (approve/reject/table) Highspire Borough Council Resolution #13 of 2025 to purchase a used 1997 Seagrave Pumper, VIN: 1F9EK28T2VCST2067, from the City of Harrisburg and formally authorizing Borough Manager, Mark L. Stonbraker, on behalf of the Borough of Highspire, to execute and deliver, the Purchase Agreement and any related documents necessary to the consummation of the transactions contemplated by said agreement. Total cost of the truck is $2,000.00 which will be paid out of the General Fund Checking Account PLGIT. e. Motion to (approve/reject/table) the Purchase Agreement between the Borough of Highspire and the City of Harrisburg for the purchase of a used 1997 Seagrave Pumper for the Citizens fire Company #1 of Highspire. 17. Adjournment "Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance.” ― George Bernard Shaw Page | 3 HIGHSPIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 13 – 2025 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF HIGHSPIRE, DAUPHIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AUTHORIZING THE BOROUGH OF HIGHSPIRE TO PURCHASE A USED 1997 SEAGRAVE PUMPER FROM THE CITY OF HARRISBURG. WHEREAS, the Borough of Highspire of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania has determined that a true and very real need exists for the acquisition of an additional pumper truck to supplement the engine currently being used by the Citizens Fire Company #1 of Highspire and presented to this meeting; and has further determined that the Equipment will be used solely for essential governmental functions and not for private business use; and WHEREAS, the Borough of Highspire has received an offer for the purchase of one (1) used 1997 Seagrave pumper truck, VIN: 1F9EK28T2VCST2067, from the City of Harrisburg for the base price of $2,000.00, taking the necessary steps, including, without limitation to compliance with legal bidding requirements, under applicable law to arrange for the acquisition of such Equipment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED this 15th day of April, 2025, by the Borough Council of the Borough of Highspire, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, that the terms of said Purchase Agreement and are in the best interest of the Borough of Highspire for the acquisition of such Equipment, and the Borough Council of Highspire Borough designates and confirms Mark L. Stonbraker, Borough Manager, to execute and deliver, the Purchase Agreement any related documents necessary to the consummation of the transactions contemplated by said agreement. The undersigned further certifies that the above resolution has not been repealed or amended and remains in full force and effect and further certifies that the above and foregoing Purchase Agreement is the same as presented at said meeting of the governing body of Purchaser. ADOPTED this 15th day of April 2025, by the Borough Council of the Borough of Highspire, Dauphin County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
