Minutes PLANNING BOARD Regular meeting 6:30 p.m. March 20, 2025 Board Meeting Room of Town Hall Annex, 105 E. Corbin St. Present: Chair Frank Casadonte, Vice-Chair Hooper Schultz, Jeanette Benjey, John Giglia, Robert Iglesias and Sherra Lawrence Absent: Tiffney Marley and Christian Schmidt Staff: Planner II Molly Boyle 1. Call to order and confirmation of quorum Chair Frank Casadonte called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. Planner Molly Boyle confirmed the presence of a quorum. 2. Agenda changes and approval There were no changes to the agenda. Motion: Vice-Chair Hooper Schultz moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Member John Giglia seconded. Vote: 6-0. Motion passed. 3. Minutes review and approval Minutes from regular meeting on Jan. 16, 2025. Motion: Schultz moved to approve the minutes as presented. Member Sherra Lawrence seconded. Vote: 6-0. Motion passed 4. Election of officers and appointments to other boards A. Election of Chair Planner Molly Boyle presided over the election of the chair. She opened the floor to nominations. Iglesias nominated Casadonte for chair and Giglia seconded. Boyle asked for any other nominations and, hearing none, she asked for a motion to close the floor. Schultz motioned to close the floor. Lawrence seconded. Roll call vote: All members voted aye to re-elect Casadonte as Planning Board Chair. Casadonte re- elected. (5 ayes; 1 abstain – Casadonte) B. Election of Vice-Chair Casadonte opened the floor for nominations for Vice-Chair. Iglesias nominated Schultz for Vice-Chair. Giglia seconded. The floor was closed for nominations. 101 E. Schultz re- elected. (5 ayes; 1 abstain – Schultz) C. Appointment of Board of Adjustment Representative Iglesias volunteered to continue as the Board of Adjustment representative. D. Appointment of Parks & Recreation Board Representative Schultz volunteered to continue as the Parks and Recreation Board representative. However, he offered to let another board member take the role if interested. The board acknowledged that Christian Schmidt had previously expressed interest in this position, but he was not present. The board will discuss with Schmidt at the next meeting. If he declines, Schultz will continue to serve as the representative. 5. Updates A. Board of Adjustment Iglesias reported that the board met in February to review an appeal. The Board of Adjustment will hold its organizational meeting in April to elect its chair and vice-chair. B. Parks and Recreation Board Schultz reported the board met on Tuesday of that week. The board continued its work on the Riverwalk Master Plan. C. Staff and Board Members Boyle had no updates for staff. 6. Adjournment Motion: Giglia motioned to adjourn. Iglesias seconded. Vote: 6-0. Motion passed.
