Present: Chair Tim Logue, Tom Darling, Matt Archibald, Brian Mayell,
and Greg Yavelak
Absent: Mixon Nelson and Linda Paynter
Staff: Public Space and Sustainability Manager Stephanie Trueblood
1. Call to order, roll call and confirmation of quorum
Chair Tim Logue called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Public Space and Sustainability Manager Stephanie
Trueblood called the roll and confirmed a quorum.
2. Agenda changes and approval
Motion: Member Tom Darling moved approval the agenda. Member Brian Mayell seconded.
Vote: 5-0
3. Minutes review and approval
Minutes from regular meeting on Feb. 19, 2025
Motion: Member Brian Mayell moved approval of the Feb. 19, 2025, minutes as submitted. Member
Greg Yavelak seconded.
Vote: 5-0
4. Discussion items
A. Climate Challenge Planning
The board members discussed the Buzz About Pollinators event and member Brian Mayell agreed to reach
out to event coordinator Cathy Vinski for event details.
B. Earth Evening Planning
Member Tom Darling volunteered to table at the event and agreed to reach out to Linda Paynter about the
Earth Evening activity and materials.
C. Prohibited Plant List
Stormwater and Environmental Services Manager, Terry Hackett, will attend the April Tree Board meeting to
talk about the prohibited plant list as it relates to stormwater regulations and the Unified Development
Ordinance rewrite.
No action was taken.

A. Invasive Removal Team

Member Tim Logue shared that the team finished planting seedlings and live stakes at Murray Street Park,
Turnip Patch Park, Riverwalk, and Gold Park. He explained the bare root plants from Mellow Marsh were
smaller than expected and we may need a different source next time. He shared that 15 volunteers showed
up for the Creek Week workday and that the invasive species group will work every third Saturday instead of
every third Wednesday through the spring.
B. Garden Club
Trueblood shared club events as submitted by Garden Club President Tammy Dorman.
C. Staff
Trueblood reported:
• The native plant policy for town properties will go to the Town Board for approval in April.
• Tree Board will host an invasive species removal workday during the Climate Challenge in April. Staff will
also give a talk about ecological landscaping.
• Trueblood shared the 2024 Leave the Leaves campaign results.
• Trueblood reported that cemetery plantings are complete.
• April is Native Plant Month
• Trueblood reported that Parks and Recreation Bard is working on a master plan for Riverwalk and the
Tree Board will need to develop content and recommendations for the plan at upcoming meetings.
6. Adjournment
Tim Logue adjourned the meeting at 10:05 a.m.
