Village Board Meeting 5:00 p.m. December 10, 2019 Present: Mayor Lee, Trustees Zabelny, Fowler, Speer, Gates Village Manager/Clerk Shari Pearce DPW Superintendent Mike McHenry Guests: None Mayor Lee to call the Village Board meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of silence. Benefits Shari Pearce explained that there is an option for coverage that can be added to our health insurance plan. The benefit would include covering domestic partners and their children. There as a lengthy discussion on this subject matter. The board does support coverage of domestic partners. Shari and Mike will review this matter with the employees and the item will be placed on the January agenda. Joint Meeting: Supervisor Jack Barton has requested a joint meeting; the suggested dates are either January 21st or 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Community Center. Jennejahn Lodge Bids Mike McHenry distributed to the board the bid results, which is attached. The board discussed the installation of an air conditioning unit at the time of construction. Due to the cost, it will be installed by the DPW after the renovation. Trustee Speer made the motion to accept the low bid (Option 2) from Thompson Builds Inc for the renovation of the Jennejahn Lodge, seconded by Trustee Zabelny. Carried unanimously, 5-0 as follows: Bid, Allowance and Alt 1(without AC equipment) $195,852.00 Grill, Tables, Chairs, Refrigerator, Stove and High-Pressure Toilets (Village to purchase) $ 9,200.00 1 Engineering (Design, bid package, construction and rebid) $43,300.00 Total $248,352.00 Money allocated for the project Grant $225,154.00 Park Savings $ 35,800.00 Total $260,954.00 Left in Parks Saving Account $ 12,602.00 Adjournment There being no further business, Trustee Fowler motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 p.m. and seconded by Trustee Speer.
