BOROUGH OF HO-HO-KUS WORK SESSION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL FEBRUARY 21, 2017-7:30 PM MINUTES Councilmember Rorty called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. The opening statement was read. This is a work session of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus, and members of the public are welcome to be present at this meeting. Under Chapter 80, Public Laws of 2002, Public Comment is allowed at this meeting. The comment period placement is established by the Mayor and Council. The governing body has the discretion to set the length of time for public comment. At Roll members present were. Councilmembers Rorty, Shell, Iannelli and Crossley. Also present were Borough Administrator Bill Jones and Attorney David Bole. Absent: Mayor Randall, Councilmembers Troast and Fiato. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES January 24, 2017 Public Meeting ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT Fairness hearing set for March 30, 2017. Notice posted on the website notices sent to newspapers. Had final budget meeting with the finance committee CFO will be at the March work session to discuss the highlights of the budget, to be introduced at the public meeting the week after and for Final hearing in April. NWBRSS will go out to bid for paving. Doerr # 2017-37 Forgiveness of Solid Waste Bill # 2017-38 Payment of Vouchers CONSENT RESOLUTION None OLD BUSINESS Resolution-Verizon Borough attorney David Bole discussed the amendment to the resolution from Verizon for the nodes installed on the telephone poles. Chamber of Commerce-None NEW BUSINESS None MAYOR'S REMARKS None CLOSED SESSION WHEREAS, under the “Open Public Meetings Law”, all sessions must be open to the public, and WHEREAS, under the Public Meetings Act Law, exceptions exist for a public body to hold a Closed Session NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus hereby recess under Litigation and Tax Appeal and Litigation BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the results of the Closed Session will be available to the public in the minutes regarding the same at the conclusion of the matter.
