BOROUGH OF HO-HO-KUS COMBINED MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 19, 2017-7:30 PM MINUTES Mayor Randall called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. The opening statement was read. This is a meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus, and members of the public are welcome to be present at this meeting. Under Chapter 80, Public Laws of 2002, Public Comment is allowed at this meeting. The comment period placement is established by the Mayor and Council. The governing body has the discretion to set the length of time for public comment. At Roll all members were present. Also present was Borough Attorney David Bole. Borough administrator William Jones was absent. PROCLAMATION Seventh Annual Gold Star Mothers’ Day CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES 1. August 15, 2017- Combined meeting ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT None PUBLIC DISCUSSION None COMMITTEE REPORTS- August 2017 On File CORRESPONDENCE 1. Ridgewood Gold Star Mother’s Day Committee- Gold Star Mothers’ Day Event 2. YAC- re: Halloween Window Painting 3. Chief Minchin- re: Officer Leif Hanisch Field Training and Evaluation Program 4. Borough of Allendale- Oppose N.J.A.C 5:30-18.1 and 18.2 Employee Compensation Disclosure 5. Board of Chosen Freeholder- September recognized as National Alcohol and Drug Recovery Month. INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE None FINAL PASSAGE OF ORDINANCE  1. Ord # 2017-11 Chapter 85, “Zoning Ordinance of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus”,  2. Ord # 2017-12 Amend article IV, “District Regulations” of Chapter 85, “Zoning Ordinance of the borough of Ho-Ho-Kus” (TABLED)  Ord # 2017-13 (Revised) Amend article IV “District Regulations” of Chapter 85 to Implement the Borough/Chamberlain settlement agreement on block 1015, lot 9, Maple Avenue 1 RESOLUTIONS 1. Appt. Junior Fireman- Edmund Iannelli 2. Award Contract- Persistent Construction Inc. 3. Payment of Vouchers. CONSENT RESOLUTION None OLD BUSINESS A. Liaison Reports: 1. Recreation Councilmember Iannelli: Football and Soccer in progress. Grass on Lloyd field has grown. 2. Board of Education Councilmember Iannelli: School is in session. Back to school night was a success. All 5th graders were given Chrome books. 3. Other a. Ambulance None b. Fire Councilmember Rorty: Open house on October 15th. Mutual aid to Waldwick for a house fire c. Library Councilmember Fiato. Discussed landscaping at the Library as Eagle Scout project B. Shade Tree C. Chamber of Commerce Councilmember Shell: Blue ribbons tied on trees for Turn the Town Teal, it will removed at the end of the month NEW BUSINESS Councilmember Crossley asked that the Police department take a look at the overnight parking on Duncan road. MAYOR'S REMARKS CLOSED SESSION WHEREAS, under the “Open Public Meetings Law”, all sessions must be open to the public, and WHEREAS, under the Public Meetings Act Law, exceptions exist for a public body to hold a Closed Session NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus hereby recess under Litigation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the results of the Closed Session will be available to the public in the minutes regarding the same at the conclusion of the matter.
