MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF HOBART, LAKE COUNTY, INDIANA MARCH 4, 2015 Call to Order/Pledge to the Flag: Mr. Snedecor called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Lain, Mr. Ehrhardt and Mr. Snedecor. Also present Attorney DeBonis, Clerk-Treasurer Longer, and Admin. Asst. C. Govert Reading of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to accept and approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 18, 2015 as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Correspondence: Police Chief Zormier presented the new K-9, “MoJo” a Dutch Shepard assigned to Officer Ken Williams. Mr. Snedecor made a motion to accept K-9 MoJo to the Hobart Police Department, and was seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Approval of Register of Claims and Payroll Claims: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt, seconded by Mr. Lain, to accept and approve the register of claims and payroll claims as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Approval of Agenda: Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Unfinished Business: There was no unfinished business. New Business: Parking regulations for the new City Parking Lot at 2nd and Center St: Mayor Snedecor discussed the staff recommendations of No Overnight Parking and a 2-hour parking limit for this lot. Attorney DeBonis noted that Section 72.07 of the Hobart Municipal Code limits parking in all City lots to 2-hours and Section 72.06A states the Chief of Police is authorized to designate the limits, with the approval of the Council. Motion by Mr. Lain, seconded by Mr. Ehrhardt, to refer the staff recommendation of parking restrictions for this lot to Chief of Police for consideration and designation of additional restrictions, if needed. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Announcements: Mr. Snedecor asked if there was anyone who wished to address the Board and there was no response. Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Ehrhardt to adjourn.
