MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOBART CIVIL FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HOBART HELD FEBRUARY 11, 2014 Call to Order: Mr. Drobac called the meeting to order at 5:58 PM, followed by the pledge of allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Drobac, Mr. Pouch, and Mr. Donsbach Also present was Karen Erler-Watson. Approval of the Agenda : Mr. Pouch made a motion to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Mr. Donsbach. All aye, motion carried All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Minutes : Mr. Donsbach made a motion to approve the minutes from January, as presented, seconded by Mr. Pouch. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Correspondence: None New Business: Election of Officers: Mr. Donsbach nominated Chris Drobac for the position of chairman of the Fire Commission, seconded by Mr. Pouch. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Mr. Donsbach nominated Mr. Pouch for the position of Vice Chairman of the Fire Commission, seconded by Mr. Drobac. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Captain Testing: Mr. Donsbach reported that the Captain testing will be held on February 22, 2014 at 9:00am. Mr. Donsbach addressed the rule regarding being a Lieutenant for two years in order to qualify to take the Captain’s test. There was a discussion on ruling for testing. Mr. Donsbach made a motion to forward the rule changes to the attorney, seconded by Mr. Pouch. All aye, motion carried. Mr. Donsbach reported that he will be stepping down from the Fire Commission within a couple of months. Old Business : Rule Changes: Mr. Donsbach reported that he will email ordinance 2013-38 out this week. Clarification needs to be made regarding the assignment of the Assistant Fire Chief. Captain’s testing: Mr. Donsbach will follow up to set up testing as soon as possible. Testing will be held by the end of February. Adjournment: Mr. Pouch made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Donsbach. All aye, motion carried.
