MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOBART CIVIL FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HOBART HELD FEBRUARY 10, 2015 Call to Order: Mr. Pouch called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m., followed by the pledge of allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Donsbach, Mr. Drobac and Mr. Pouch. Also present were Fire Chief Kerr, Mayor Snedecor, Clerk-Treasurer Longer and Terry Norman (Secretary) Approval of the Agenda: Mr. Pouch made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Mr. Donsbach. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Minutes: Mr. Pouch made a motion to accept the minutes from the Commission's meeting of January 13, 2015 as presented, seconded by Mr. Donsbach. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Correspondence: There was no correspondence. New Business: Discussion on finding a replacement for Mr. Donsbach. Prospective candidates to be brought in for a short interview. Election of Officers: Nomination by Mr. Pouch seconded by Mr. Donsbach for Mr. Pouch to be elected as chairman. All aye, motion carried. (3-0). Nomination by Mr. Pouch seconded by Mr. Donsbach for Mr. Drobac to be elected as Vice Chairman. All aye, motion carried (3-0) carried Old Business: Battalion Chief Testing is scheduled for April 18 at 9:00 am at the PCC. A discussion was held on proposed rule changes. Attorney will be contacted. Mr. Pouch advised that he had certified the new hire list. A discussion was held on discipline for Capt. Lamprecht. Chief Kerr advised the discipline would commence after Capt. Lamprecht returned from FMLA leave. Mr. Donsbach had concerns of the time lapse since the issue was brought up. Mr. Donsbach will contact the Commission Attorney for opinion. Mr. Pouch received a letter from Capt. Lamprecht’s Attorney advising that he had been retained as council. Mr. Donsbach asked Chief Kerr for a copy of the letter that was given to Capt. Lamprecht. A discussion was held on the number of persons needed for a disciplinary hearing. Adjournment: Mr. Donsbach made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Pouch the motion All aye, motion carried.
