MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOBART CIVIL FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HOBART HELD July 14, 2015 Call to Order: Mr. Pouch called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m., followed by the pledge of allegiance. NOTE: ** Randal Smith was sworn in as the new Commissioner to fill the remaining term of Commissioner Donsbach prior to the start of the meeting by Mayor Snedecor Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Pouch, Mr. Smith and Mr. Drobac. Also present was Fire Chief Kerr Approval of the Agenda: Mr. Smith made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Mr. Drobac. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Approval of Minutes: Mr. Drobac made a motion to accept the minutes from the Commission's meeting of April 14, 2015 as presented, seconded by Mr. Smith. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Correspondence: Report that the invoice for the last promotion exam is coming New Business: None Old Business: A short discussion was held on the case for Capt. Lamprecht being dropped. A discussion was held on the proposed rule changes. Copies will be available electronically and a hard copy at each Fire Station. Motion by Mr. Pouch to adapt the new rules on July 20, 2015 seconded by Drobac. All aye, motion carried. (3-0). A short discussion was held on the replacement of Commissioner Donsbach. Mr. Randal Smith was welcomed. A discussion was held on the results and certification of the promotion test that was given in April. Motion by Mr. Drobac seconded by Mr. Smith to approve the list. All aye, motion carried (3-0) A discussion was held on the Lieutenant’s and Battalion Chief’s test scheduled for July 18. And also on the parameters for the upcoming Captain’s test next year. A short discussion was held about the Chief examiner and the entry level testing company for upcoming exams. Adjournment: Mr. Smith made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Drobac All aye, motion carried.
