MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOBART CIVIL SERVICE FIRE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HOBART HELD MARCH 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Call to Order: Mr. St. Myers called the meeting to order at 18:04, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was held with the building open to the public and a call-in number for remote public participation. Roll Call: The following members were present: Mr. Finnerty, Mr. St. Myers, and Mr. Schallenkamp. Also present: Clerk-Treasurer Longer, Attorney Mindel, Asst. Chief Tinsley, Mayor Snedecor, members of Local 1641 and Acting Secretary Terry Norman. Approval of the Agenda: Motion by Mr. Finnerty and seconded by Mr. Schallenkamp to approve the agenda as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3-0) Approval of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Schallenkamp and seconded by Mr. Finnerty to accept the minutes of the Regular meeting of February 11th, 2021 as presented. All aye, motion carried. (3- 0) Correspondence: An invoice was received from Jim Jaracz for putting on promotional testing. Mr. Jaracz will be contacted by the Commission in regard to questions on his pricing. Committee Reports: NONE Old Business: 1. Discuss the recent applicant’s test given on March 6th, 2021 and take necessary action. 27 applicants showed up for the test. 2 applicants took the test off site due to possible Covid exposures. A discussion on Reserve Firefighters was tabled due to Chief Smith not being available at this time. New Business: Discuss and name a new Secretary. Frank Pukoszek spoke about his qualifications and interest in the position. Motion by Mr. Schallenkamp, seconded by Mr. Finnerty. Motion carried. (3-0) Announcements: An executive meeting was called for Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. A special meeting was called for Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at 6:30 P.M. A motion for these meetings was made by Mr. Finnerty and seconded by Mr. Schallenkamp. Motion carried. (3-0) Adjournment: Motion by Mr. Finnerty and seconded by Mr. Schallenkamp to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried (3-0). The meeting adjourned at 6:15 P.M.
