Sanitary and Stormwater District Board

CITY OF HOBART SANITARY DISTRICT/STORM WATER MANAGEMENT BOARD MEETING SPECIAL MEETING OF March 16, 2020 Mr. Fulton called the meeting of the Hobart Sanitary District to order at 5:02 pm. Members in attendance: Mr. Robert Fulton, Mr. Phil Gralik and Mr. Joe Broadaway. Also, in attendance: Attorney Heather McCarthy, Attorney Jim Meyer, Mr. Jake Dammarell, BF&S and Ms. Ma Lisa Cox, Recording Secretary. Members absent: Mr. Jim Mandon and Mr. David Hill. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Board members were presented the agenda for the special meeting. Mr. Broadaway made a motion to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Mr. Gralik. All aye, motion carried. (3/0) Mr. Mark Kopil arrived at 5:19 p.m. 73rd Avenue Right-of-Way Acquisition: Mr. Gralik presented to the Board a right-of-way agreement with BF&S for the 73rd Avenue. He noted it is a unit cost contract for services we have them render. The intention is to have a route survey done and preliminary engineering completed to determine the amount of right-of way needed for the project. The agreement with Merrillville Conservancy District has the District entering into the acquisitions within twenty days of that agreement. There was a discussion of the agreement presented and the project on 73rd Avenue. Attorney Meyer suggested the motion include that the agreement is subject to the phase being done on an hourly not to exceed and the consultant only be paid for the work the District directs them to perform. Mr. Gralik made a motion to approve the agreement with BF&S for the right-of-way acquisition subject to the phase being done on an hourly not to exceed and the consultant only to be paid for work the District directs them to perform, seconded by Mr. Broadaway. All aye, motion carried. (3/0) ADJOURNMENT: There being no further comments or discussion, Mr. Gralik made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Broadaway. All aye, motion carried.
