Special City Council Meeting

Special Meeting of the Holdingford City Council May 22, 2014 Mayor Ernie Schmit called the Special Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. to review applications for the City Maintenance Specialist job opening. Members present: Ernie Schmit, Sue Marstein, Mike Odden, Lewis Becker, Lloyd Rausch, Jeremy Freudenrich and Sandra Meer All members reviewed the 26 submitted applications and five applicants were chosen to interview the following Thursday, May 29, 2014. Lewis Becker made a motion to adjourn. Sue Marstein seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:3pm. Members present: Ernie Schmit, Sue Marstein, Mike Odden, Lewis Becker, Lloyd Rausch, Jeremy Freudenrich and Sandra Meer. Five applicants were interviewed. Sue Marstein made a motion to offer the Maintenance Specialist position to Brian Zapzalka, contingent on a clean background check and license verification, with starting pay at $18.01/hour, to be eligible for a step and pay increase after six month probationary period and again after successfully obtaining Class B Wastewater Treatment License by December 2014. Lewis Becker seconded the motion. AIF Mike Odden made a motion to offer the Maintenance Specialist position to Bryan Backes if Brian Zapzalka does not accept the position. Lloyd Rausch seconded the motion. Amended to include the offer is contingent upon the applicant moving within a 20-30 minute drive of city. AIF Sue Marstein made a motion to adjourn.
