Special City Council Meeting

Special Meeting of the Holdingford City Council December 19, 2016 The Special Meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Mayor Sue Marstein to review applications for the vacated Maintenance staff position. Present: Mayor Sue Marstein, Eric Berscheid, Mike Odden, Bob Sanchez, Alan Walz and Clerk-Treasurer Sandra Meer. Guest: Jerry Winkler. Sixteen applications were reviewed and five applicants were chosen to interview on Wednesday, December 21 st. Mike Odden made a motion to adjourn. Bob Sanchez seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:50pm. Respectfully Submitted, Sandra Meer Holdingford City Clerk-Treasurer Special Meeting of the Holdingford City Council December 21, 2016 The Special Meeting was called to order at 7:20 p.m. by Mayor Sue Marstein after interviews were completed for the Maintenance Department job opening. Present: Mayor Sue Marstein, Eric Berscheid, Mike Odden, Bob Sanchez, Alan Walz and Sandra Meer. Five applicants were interviewed. Following discussion, Mike Odden made a motion to hire Steve Horvath with a starting date of January 3, 2017. Eric Berscheid seconded the motion. AIF Two changes on the union contract would be made to include “initial hires without wastewater certifications would start at Level H Step 0, while working towards certification”; and remove wording to compensate Class A certified operators at level K, since the city facilities only requires a Class B certified operator. Because the city is in need of a certified wastewater operator, the council agreed to offer applicant Ryan Winters a subcontracting agreement for wastewater certification sign-offs at $500/month which would require two hours on- site per week.
