. The Special City Commission Meeting of the City of Hollywood, Florida, was called to
order by Mayor Levy on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 3:38 PM in the City Commission
Room, Room 219, Joseph W. Watson Circle, Hollywood, Florida.
Mayor Levy explained the meeting is being held virtually due to COVID -19 and explained
the meeting procedures which will be followed. The public was allowed entrance to City
Hall to come speak if they chose to.

Dr. Wazir Ishmael, City Manager, explained the application submission
process and the number of applications received.
Douglas Gonzales, City Attorney, and Patricia Cerny, City Clerk,
provided additional information.
ACTION: Motion was made by Commissioner Hernandez, which
was seconded by Vice Mayor Biederman, to adopt the Resolution
appointing Jeffrey Marano. The motion on roll call vote carried:

appointing Susan Triano in the category of private sector
management position; and Samuel Bentolila in the category of

Discussion ensued among members of the Commission.
Leslie Del Monte, Planning Manager, responded to questions raised by
the Commission.
The following individuals expressed personal opinions/concerns:

ACTION: Motion was made by Commissioner Callari, which was
seconded by Commissioner Sherwood, to adopt the Resolution
appointing Steven Morales in the Design category; and Patrice

Appointing Three Members To The Young Circle ArtsPark Advisory
Board.
ACTION: Motion was made by Vice Mayor Biederman, which was
seconded by Commissioner Sherwood, to adopt the Resolution
appointing Richard Sauer in the category of Performing Arts Field.

seconded by Commissioner Sherwood, to adopt the Resolution
appointing Dale Cheek and Juan Mendoza in the Professional
category; Henry Buzgon and Larry Gilderman in the Resident
category; and Suzy Cutrone in the Member category. The motion

Kevin Toilver-Lyons in the Adult category; and Lauren Rosenthal

opinions/concerns.
Anthony Grisby, Interim Community Development Manager, explained the
intent of the resolution and responded to questions asked by the
Commission.
ACTION: Motion was made by Commissioner Sherwood, which
was seconded by Commissioner Hernandez, to adopt the
Resolution appointing Peggy Canis in the category of Teacher;
Diane Marrero, Kypps Pollard, and Allan Libero in the category of
Regular Member; and Grahm Rubin and Gabrielle Short in the
category of Student member; with the City Clerk drawing lots to
determine the terms. The motion on roll call vote carried:

. Executive Session
Douglas Gonzales, City Attorney, announced pursuant to Florida Statute
286.011(8)(a), governing public meetings, an executive session will be
held in the McCumber-Wright Venture, LLC d/b/a Mark McCumber &
Associates v. The City of Hollywood matter. The virtual executive
session will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 3:00 PM. Attending the
session will be the Mayor and Commissioners, City Manager, City
Attorney, and outside counsel Steven Zelkowitz and John Herin.

Important Information Regarding the Upcoming Special City Commission Meeting –
Annual Advisory Board Appointments
The City of Hollywood will be conducting a virtual Special City Commission Meeting for the
Annual Advisory Board Appointments on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. using
Communications Media technology (“CMT”). Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive
Order No. 20-69 pertaining to conducting local government meetings while under the public
health emergency related to the Noval Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). In accordance
with this order and due to a prohibition of public access to Hollywood City Hall, 2600 Hollywood
Blvd, Room 221, because of the risk to public health, the City is offering a number of options for
board/committee appointees and members of the public to view and participate in the meeting.
