CITY OF HOPEWELL, VIRGINIA MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION SALL PORT CONFERENCE ROOM, 300 NORTH MAIN STREET WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2024 6:00 p.m. MINUTES I. Call to Order Chairman Reynolds called the session to order at 6:42 p.m. II. Roll Call Members Present: Paul Reynolds, Chairman Carlos Roman, Vice Chairman Patience Bennett Todd Butterworth Jasmine Gore (virtual) Members Absent: None Staff Member present: Christopher Ward, Director III. Determination of Quorum A quorum was determined. IV. Invocation by designated Commission Member Prayer rendered by Commissioner Butterworth. V. Administrative Matters 1. Withdrawals/Deferrals/Amendments to the Agenda None 2. Review and take action on previous meeting minutes Chairman Reynolds asked if there were any corrections to the September 5, 2024 minutes. There were none. The minutes were approved as distributed by unanimous vote. Planning Commission Minutes November 6, 2024 Page | 1 VI. Election of Officers Commissioner Butterworth made a motion to nominate Jasmine Gore as Chairman. Commissioner Gore accepted the nomination. Vice Chairman Roman seconded the motion. New officer positions begin at the next meeting scheduled for November 14, 2024. Vote: 5-0 Yes: Chairman Reynolds Commissioner Butterworth Vice Chairman Roman Commissioner Bennett Commissioner Gore No: None Motion: Unanimous Pass to Approve Commissioner Butterworth made a motion to nominate Carlos Roman to remain as Vice Chairman. Vice Chairman Roman accepted the nomination. Commissioner Bennett seconded the motion. Vote: 5-0 Yes: Commissioner Butterworth Commissioner Bennett Commissioner Gore Vice Chairman Roman Chairman Reynolds No: None Motion: Unanimous Pass to Approve VII. Adjournment Commissioner Bennett made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
