CITY OF HORICON POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION MINUTES JANUARY 11, 2023 The Police and Fire Commission of the City of Horicon met in regular session with President Neitzel presiding. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Members Present: Neitzel, Keup, Harvancik, Hoefs, and Davison. Members Absent: None. Motion by Harvancik, seconded by Hoefs, to approve the November 9, 2022, meeting minutes. All voting Aye. Motion carried. Public Appearances: None. Police Department Monthly Report: − Chief Yahnke reported that the monthly report is not complete and that her office is currently looking into a paperless monthly report. Calls for service for 2022 are more than 2021. − Chief Yahnke reported that her department participated in a joint training with the Horicon Fire Department for water rescue training. Monthly videos are being created by Chief Yahnke for the police department. Fire Department Monthly Report: None. Chief Tesch was absent. Status of New Hires for Police Department: − Chief Yahnke introduced two of the recent police department hires: Officer Chris Ackley and Officer Grace Millard. Officer Ackley starts the academy tomorrow in Appleton and Officer Millard stated that training is going well, and she is happy to be here. Status of New Hires for Fire Department: None. Chief Tesch was absent. Projected Hiring for Open Positions for Police Department: − Chief Yahnke reported that there are currently union negotiations in progress regarding the proposed sergeant positions and that the police department is currently fully staffed as the lieutenant position funding was reallocated to patrol. Projected Hiring for Open Positions for Fire Department: None. Chief Tesch was absent. The next meeting will be Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at the Public Safety Building.
