City of Horicon Public Safety Committee Minutes May 7, 2024 The Public Safety Committee meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairperson Marie Fenske. Members Present: Fenske and Remy. Members Absent: Frami. Motion by Remy, second by Fenske, to approve the April 3, 2024 minutes. All voting Aye. Motion carried. Public Appearances: None. Pedestrian Safety: − Thanks to the Police Department for their efforts to be present along routes that children walk to school. Discussion on adding a speed sign on East Lake Street. Will present to Public Works and Development Committee for consideration. Discussion on chicken coop size and feedback from residents over the past year. Motion by Remy, second by Fenske, to amend Ordinance 212-21 Keeping of Chickens within City Limits, Section H. (4) from 6” to 8” above ground level. All voting Aye. Motion carried. Discussion on Neighborhood Block Party. Chief Furseth provided monthly update on the Police Department. Motion by Fenske, second by Remy, to approve a 2-year operator license for Anne Cook, Todd Cook, Ashley Roecker, Casey Schmude, Tonya Steinbeck, and Cheyenne Zsizsek. All voting Aye. Motion carried. Motion by Fenske, second by Remy, to approve a 1-year operator license for Alysha Kurz, Parker Litterick, Presley Litterick, Taylor Schaefer, and Hannah Soblewski. All voting Aye. Motion carried. Motion by Fenske, second by Remy, to approve the following Liquor License applications: Danny Boys Irish Pub LLC, Horicon American Legion Post 157, Horicon Hills Golf Club LLC, Kwik Trip #332, Kwik Trip #782, Rock River Tap LLC, Sky Enterprises Group LLC, and the Wetlands. All voting Aye. Motion carried. Set the next meeting date for Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Building. Motion to adjourn by Fenske, second by Remy. All voting Aye.
