VILLAGE OF HORTONVILLE
Senior Activities Committee Meeting Minutes
Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 12:00 pm (feel free to bring your lunch)
Community Room of Municipal Building 531 N. Nash Street
Call to Order – Trustee Lund – Moe called the meeting to order at 12:05 on May 9,
All members were present, along with Tory from Care Patrol and Alyssa, the activities director from
Care Partners
Introductions as needed.
Agenda Changes – none.
Approval of April 11, 2024, meeting minutes.
Motion [Mueller, Zimmerman] to approve April 11th minutes. 5 ayes, 0 nays, motion carried.
Thank you cards for speakers and donors (signed during meeting)
Discussion of committee changes and officer elections
Pat is now off the Village Board but will be staying on as a resident and chairperson for the committee.
She will provide the board with updates and information as needed.
Pat will alternate the committee members for 1-, 2-, and 3-year terms.
Motion (Mueller, Gorski) to nominate Pat Lund Moe for committee President for 1 year. Unanimous
voice vote. Motion carried.
Motion (Mueller, Zimmerman) to nominate Lauren Prochnow as secretary. Unanimous voice vote.
Motion carried.
Review of activities since last meeting
April 15: Potluck and Birthday/May baskets – it went well, they were able to put all together.
April 15: LWV affordable senior housing presentation – there was a Covid lockdown, so the meeting
had to be done in Zoom, defining family in the zoning code.
April 23: Hearthstone field trip – was well received; the group took a tour of the Hearthstone Museum,
followed by lunch at Pullman’s.
May 6: Potluck; greeting cards, ADRC speaker – everything went well. The presentation was regarding
cooking for 1-2 people.
Upcoming Events:
May 13th- Coffee and Conversation – gardening discussion, painting pots at 9:00 am
May 20th- Birthday and planting of pots – with raised garden beds- staff to give presentation.
June 3rd: Potluck and Games, Trivia
June 10th: Coffee and Conversation: Tory from Care Patrol will do a mock assessment like they would
use when assessing people who come to them.
July 15th: Tentative Summer picnic with summer Rec program – 11:00 – 2:00

Senior Autumn Fest
Update on sponsorships and agency booth reservation – we currently have $1050 in donations on top
of $1,000 that was donated late last year. We have 7 vendors currently signed up.
We are currently researching caterers but are on schedule for the timeline. The theme for this year is
“Safety in the Home” and will be having a panel discussion for questions and answers. We will be
bringing information on potential caterers to the June meeting.

Community Center
Summer Picnic and Field Trips – Appleton Museum? Brainstorming opportunities closer and further
from Hortonville.
Autumn Fest
Future meeting dates: June 13th and July 18th
Adjourn Motion [Gorski, Mueller] to adjourn. Unanimous voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
