VILLAGE OF HORTONVILLE Senior Activities Committee Meeting Minutes Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 12:00 pm (feel free to bring your lunch) Community Room of Municipal Building 531 N. Nash Street Call to Order – Pat Lund - Moe called the meeting to order at 12:06 on August 15, All members were present, except Joanne, who came at 1:30. Guest Rosie Rohm. Introductions as needed. Agenda Changes – None. Approval of June 13 and July 18, 2024, meeting minutes. Motion [Gorski, Zimmerman] to approve minutes of June 13 and July 18 minutes. 6 ayes, 0 nays, motion carried. Thank you cards for speakers and donors (signed during meeting) Review of activities since last meeting August 5th: Potluck and Speakers: Aaron and Sean spoke on BOLD. This was a good discussion with great questions. Field Trip Brainstorming with Rosie Rohm Discussion regarding trips in 2025. Looking at a variety of day trips around the state, including different levels of entertainment and costs to suit needs of many. Upcoming Events: August 19: Birthday Party: movie and root beer floats – Library to get Pat the materials September 9: Coffee and Conversation – Looking into a couple different speakers, nothing scheduled yet September 16: Combined potluck and birthday party – Jeopardy October 8: Autumnfest October 14: Coffee and Conversation October 21: Combined Potluck and Birthday Party – Clerk’s office will speak on voting September and October Calendars: Senior Autumnfest. a. Flyer set: do mailing as we meet b. Update on sponsorships and agency booth reservations: We are at about $2,400 between donations and booth reservations. c. Review Timetable – details to cover in the coming weeks d. Panel participants and contacts: finalize names & topics e. Meal: updates – Erin @ Meat Block f. Supply purchase - Items for future agendas Community Center Field Trips – Appleton Museum? Brainstorming opportunities closer and further from Hortonville. Autumn Fest Future meeting dates: September 12th and October 17th Adjourn Motion [Mueller, Zimmerman] to adjourn. Unanimous voice vote.
