VILLAGE OF HORTONVILLE Senior Activities Committee Meeting Minutes Thursday, November 14th, 2024 at 12:00 pm Community Room of Municipal Building 531 N. Nash Street 1. Meeting was called to order at 12:10 pm. 2. Attendance: Rose Gorski, Joanne Mueller, Verna Zimmerman, Sarah Bultman, Lisa Springstroh, Pat Lund-Moe; Absent: Lauren Procknow 3. Agenda Changes- none 4. Approval of October 17, 2024 meeting minutes : Joanne/Sarah; unanimous approval 5. Thank you cards for speakers and donors: panel speakers, others completed. Need to Follow up to complete sponsor thank you. Pat will talk to Lauren. 6. Review of activities since last meeting October 21st: Combined Potluck and Birthday Party: Elections and Voting presentations: Small group, well received, good information and chance to use the electronic voting option October 22nd: Assembling Halloween bags at Care Partners: went well, they would like to work with us again soon. DPW delivered and picked up. Suggestions: consider paper bags for goodies and crates or boxes to pack in as things get crushed in garbage bags. Skip the bags of chips, consider local gift cards (DQ, subway, etc to promote local Businesses) November 11th: Coffee and Conversation, Greeting Cards: small group, had fun. Will try Having homemade treats, fruit to go with coffee. 7. Upcoming Events: November 18th: Birthday/Potluck combined, Stalag Hortonville: planned format for Discussion. Sarah will request copies of book for check-out thru library. Donaldson’s Pulled pork and potato salad; we provide buns, coffee, water, plates, etc. Let HHS know about program with possible follow-up if they’d like December 2nd: Potluck: Games--set December 9th: Coffee and Conversation: massage therapist, healthy living—double Check with Janelle. Rose will bake muffins, Pat pick up fruit. December 16th: Holiday Party: Pat will check with Lauren on flyer with rsvp 12/9. Subs, Alley Cat cookies, punch, chips. Checking with Hortonville Area Choir about performing and leading singalong; reserve HHH van and request help from Housing vans; scavenger hunt with DQ prizes for each. January 6th: Potluck (National Soup Month) purchase from Donaldson’s/Kwik Trip January 13th: Coffee and Conversation. Kim from Long Term Care Board January 20th: Birthday Party—movie : “Boys in the Boat” 9. Field Trips: Rose will contact Rosie Rohm about possible Feb 3rd trip to Milwaukee Domes, lunch 10. Items for Future Agendas Community Center Field Trips/programs 11. Future meeting dates: December 12th and January 9th or 16th 12. Meeting adjourned at 1:30pm.
