agenda with the addition. Motion passed.

4. Introduction of Guests
Tom Bolton and Liz Colgrove
5. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Café Artis Round 1 Discussion: Kathleen reviewed the proposals submitted by our top three
artists out of the Café Round 1. After review, a motion was made to accept Michael Warrick’s
proposal. Motion passed unanimously.
B. Equator Sculpture Discussion: Dale is excused from the meeting with his wife in hospital. He was
unable to get Anthony an answer on reattaching and securing the sculpture. The greenway in
that area is a bit of a wind tunnel and the piece continues to break. Anthony said he would
continue researching answers for a solution.
C. Car Plinth: Kathleen showed the committee photos of the design provided by Lee Fields, owner
of Tri-Lakes Ornamental. It utilizes a checkered stand and railroad tie for the plinth and the car
sits atop. He is generously offering to donate his work and materials to the city at no cost. After
viewing and discussing, the committee decided that a solid color for the stand would be better
in the setting it will be placed (Tranquility Garden). Anthony will speak with Lee about the change.
D. Eclipse Sculpture Tours Discussion: Kathleen inquired if any committee members were still
interested in hosting a sculpture tour along the greenway trail on or around the day of the
eclipse. It had been discussed at an earlier meeting but not discussed since then. Eli offered to
do the tour and offered to send Kathleen a PowerPoint presentation of art in Hot Springs that
he had created recently when he presented a talk to a local group. Kathleen said she would be
happy to look at it and possibly use it for the tour handout.
6. Arts Advisory Committee comments:
7. Parks & Trails Director comments: Next meeting will be pushed one week due to the eclipse.
8. Adjournment: 12:40 pm
The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, 12:00 P.M., Parks
Conference Room, 111 Opera Street, Suite A.
