Call To Order Chair Drummond called to order the regularly scheduled meeting of the Architectural & Historic Board of Review of the City of Hudson at 7:30 p.m., in accordance with the Sunshine Laws of the State of Ohio, O.R.C. Section 121.22. II. Roll Call Present: 4 - Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck Absent: 3 - Mr. Congin, Mr. Grant and Ms. Marzulla Staff in attendance: Ms. Soloman, Associate Planner; and Ms. Johnson, Executive Assistant. III. Public Comment Chair Drummond opened the meeting to public comments for anyone wanting to address the Board on any item. There were no comments. IV. Old Business A. 1542 126 Aurora Street Accessory Structure (demolition of existing detached garage and build new garage) Submitted by Bill Morris - Historic District Mr. Bill Morris, the applicant, was present for the meeting. The Historic District Subcommittee reviewed the application. The window placement was discussed. Mr. Waldeck reported that all members of the Historic District Subcommittee waived the two meeting review period and recommended granting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the plans as presented. A motion was made by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Caputo, to accept the recommendation of the Historic District Subcommittee. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck VI. New Business A. 1383 15 John Clark Lane Demolition (house) Submitted by Paul Stenger The applicant was not present for the meeting. B. 1505 186 North Main Street Sign (projecting sign - CLE Social) Submitted by Dan Soulsby - Historic District Mr. Dan and Mrs. Mindy Soulsby, the applicants, were present for the meeting. The Historic District Subcommittee reviewed the application. The sign materials were discussed. Mr. Waldeck reported that all members of the Historic District Subcommittee waived the two meeting review period and recommended granting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the plans as presented. A motion was made by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Caputo, to accept the recommendation of the Historic District Subcommittee. The Historic District Subcommittee reviewed the application. The proposed repair was discussed. Mr. Waldeck reported that all members of the Historic District Subcommittee waived the two meeting review period and recommended granting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the plans as presented. A motion was made by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Caputo, to accept the recommendation of the Historic District Subcommittee. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck D. 1493 258 North Main Street Accessory Structure (fire pit, retaining wall not built according to the approved plans) Submitted by Kurt Miller - Historic District Mr. Kurt Miller, the contractor, and a second representative were present for the meeting. The Historic District Subcommittee reviewed the application. The proposed materials were discussed. Chair Drummond stated that the Historic District Subcommittee opted to take the two week review period to conduct a site visit. E. 1301 200 Laurel Lake Drive Villa 9 Addition (two car attached garage, great room, enclosed porch, laundry and bathroom) Submitted by Jim Fausnight, Laurel Lake Retirement Community Mr. Jim Fausnight, the applicant, and a second representative of Laurel Lake, were present for the meeting. The size of the proposed addition was discussed. A motion was made by Mr. Morris, seconded by Mr. Waldeck, that this AHBR Application be approved. The rear windows and the offset from the corner of the house were discussed. A motion was made by Mr. Caputo, seconded by Mr. Waldeck, that this AHBR Application be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck G. 1515 168 Hudson Street Addition (kitchen addition in existing open porch) - CHANGE TO WINDOW ALT Submitted by Paul Palumbo - Historic District The applicant was not present for the meeting. VII. Other Business A. TMP-2878 147 Hudson Street Informal Discussion Mr. Rick Hawksley, the architect, was present to informally discuss project plans at this property. The gate style and height were discussed. VIII.
