Call To Order Chair Drummond called to order the regularly scheduled meeting of the Architectural & Historic Board of Review of the City of Hudson at 7:30 p.m., in accordance with the Sunshine Laws of the State of Ohio, O.R.C. Section 121.22. II. Roll Call Present: 5 - Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Ms. Marzulla, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck Absent: 2 - Mr. Congin and Mr. Grant III. Election of Officers Mr. Waldeck nominated Mr. Morris for the position of Secretary of The Architectural and Historical Board of Review for 2018. Ms. Marzulla seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Mr. Congin nominated Ms. Marzulla and Mr. Morris to the Industrial Subcommittee, Mr. Waldeck seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Staff in attendance: Mr. Greg Hannan, Community Development Director; Mr. Nick Sugar, Associate Planner; and Mr. Joe Campbell. IV. Public Comment Chair Drummond opened the meeting to public comments for anyone wanting to address the Board. There were no comments. Streetsboro Street Sign (Building -Great Clips) Attachments: 126 W Streetsboro Submittal A motion was made by Ms. Marzulla, seconded by Mr. Waldeck, that this AHBR Application be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Ms. Marzulla, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck VI. Old Business There was no old business. VII. New Business A. 2815 43 Church Street (Historic District) Addition (demo rear porch and rebuild a mudroom/utility room and small addition on second floor to create a pass through to connect to the second floor. Alteration (replace slider window and 4 existing awning windows). Submitted by Lee Brook - Historic District Attachments: 43 Church Street Submittial Mr. Nick Boka and Mr. Ryan Schwartz of 4723 Darrow Road, Stow, OH representing Anthony Slaybaugh Remodeling were present for the meeting and discussion. Mr. Hannan introduced the case for a rear porch demolition, building a mud room and the installation of windows in this house that has a mixture of window styles on the first and second floor. Mr. Boka and the Board discussed permitted windows and materials and the Board's desire to restore whatever can be restored. Ms. Marzulla reported that all members of the Historic District Subcommittee waived the two meeting review period and recommended granting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the plans as submitted with the exception that the windows be repaired or if replaced will be replaced with wood windows or vinyl clad wood windows with the specifications supplied to City staff. Mr. Morris motioned to accept the recommendation of the Historic Subcommittee and Mr. Waldeck seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Ms. Marzulla, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck City of Hudson, Ohio Page 2 Architectural & Historic Board of Review Meeting Minutes - Final January 24, 2018 B. 2836 109 E Streetsboro Street (Historic District) Alteration (exterior relocating front door) Submitted by William Gotts - Historic Attachments: 109 East Streetsboro Mr. Bill Gotz, the applicant and owner was present for the meeting and discussion. Mr. Nick Sugar introduced the application to relocate the front door to the original position. Mr. Gotz discussed the reasons for the door relocation and his plans for the property as a whole. Ms. Marzulla reported that all members of the Historic District Subcommittee waived the two meeting review period and recommended granting a Certificate of Appropriateness for the plans as submitted. Mr. Waldeck motioned to accept the recommendation of the Historic Subcommittee and Mr. Caputo seconded the motion. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Mr. Caputo, Mr. Drummond, Ms. Marzulla, Mr. Morris and Mr. Waldeck VIII. Other Business There was no other business. Approval of Minutes A. 1-10-2018 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS ARCHITECTURAL & HISTORIC BOARD OF REVIEW MEETINGS. January 10, 2018 Attachments: AHBR 1-10-2018 Minutes Ms. Marzulla recommended three edits to the January 10, 2018 minutes, Mr. Campbell will make these changes. A motion was made by Mr. Morris , seconded by Mr. Waldeck,that this Minutes be approved as amended. The motion carried. by an unanimous vote.
