On March 4, 2020, Governor Newsom proclaimed a State of Emergency in California as a
result of the threat of COVID-19. On March 17, 2020, Governor Newsom issued Executive
Order N-29-20 which allows a local legislative body to hold public meetings via
teleconferencing, and to make public meetings accessible telephonically or otherwise
electronically to all members of the public seeking to observe and to address the local
legislative body. Pursuant to Executive Order N-29-20, please be advised that some
members of the Huntington Beach Public Works Commission and/or City staff may participate
in this meeting telephonically or electronically.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
To ensure the public's right to participate in this legislative session, please perform the
following:
1. In order to ensure adequate social distancing, the City will not make a physical location
available for the public to observe the meeting or offer public comment in person. The Utilities
Training Center will be closed to the public.
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Members of the public wishing to participate in the Public Works
Commission meeting by submitting public comments on agenda or non -agenda items, can
submit one communication per person of 300 words or less via email to
kdills@surfcity-hb.org. Public comment communications received in this way will be included
as part of the meeting and read aloud to the Public Works Commission during the meeting .
Public Comments must be received no later than 4:00 PM the day prior to the meeting in
order to ensure inclusion into, and read during, the meeting.

Recommended Action:
Motion to recommend to the City Council the Fiscal Year 2021/22 Capital Improvement
Program.

21-198 Fiber Optic Conduit and Cable Installation from City Hall to Pier Plaza
Recommended Action:
Motion to approve the project for Fiber Optic Cable and Conduit Installation from City Hall
to Pier Plaza and other City facilities in the Downtown area (CC-1621) and find that this
project is in general conformance with the approved FY 2020/2021 Capital Improvement
Program (CIP).

Warner Avenue and Nichols Street, and at Brookhurst Street and
Indianapolis Avenue .
Recommended Action:
Motion to approve the project for the traffic signal modifications at the intersections of
Warner Avenue and Graham Street (CC-1625), Warner Avenue and Nichols Lane
(CC-1550) and at Brookhurst Street and Indianapolis Avenue (CC-1548) and find that the
project is in general conformance with the approved FY 2020/2021 Capital Improvement
Program (CIP)..
