1. Wildlife Feeding Public Education Pilot Program - Presented by Steve Engel, Huntington Central
Park Committee.
Recommended Action:
1.) Approve the Wildlife Feeding Signage as recommended by the Huntington Central
Park’s Wildlife Feeding Committee.

2. The Police Department’s Temporary Use of Rodgers Seniors’ Center Site - The Huntington
Beach Police Department will make a presentation regarding the temporary use of the Rodgers
Seniors’ Center site during the PD’s modernization project. The Special Interest Committee met
on Thursday, August 15, 2019, to receive public input on this topic.
Recommended Action:
1.) To make recommendation to City Council to consider the temporary use of the
Recreation Center building and Seniors Outreach building by the Huntington Beach
Police Department for non-visitor serving functions during the Police Department
Headquarters modernization project.
2.) Recommend that staff also work with the Police Department and the American
Legion Post 133 to identify alternative options and/or locations for their meetings and
activities during this temporary use by the Police Department.
3.) Alternative Action: Do not approve the recommended actions and direct staff on
how to proceed.
