Three (3) minutes per person, time may not be donated to others. Commission on this date can take no action on any item not on the agenda. INTRODUCTIONS 1. Introduction of Commissioners and Staff Members PRESENTATIONS 1. Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to Outgoing Commission Members ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS 1. Oath of Office – City Attorney, Michael Gates, will administer the Oath of Office to new Commissioners, Ceason Baker, appointed by Council Member McKeon; Austin Edsell, appointed by Mayor Pro Tem Van Der Mark; Lisa Lane-Barnes, appointed by Mayor Strickland; and Lolly McHardy, appointed by Council Member Burns. Page 1 of 3 Community & Library Services AGENDA January 11, 2023 Commission 2. Election of Chair and Vice-Chair – The Community & Library Services Commission shall hold its annual elections. With the recent term expiration of the past Chair and Vice Chair, the Director of Community & Library Services shall preside over the election of Chair. Nominations are solicited in advance via email, and additional nominations may be made from the floor. After the election of Chair, the new Chair shall preside over the remainder of the Commission meeting, beginning with the election of the Vice-Chair. 3. Dissolution of the current Parks Naming & Memorial Ad Hoc Committee – Staff recommends the dissolution of the current ad hoc committee for Parks Naming & Memorials Committee due to term expirations of a majority of the Committee members. Staff will schedule discussion of new ad hoc committees at a future date. Recommended Action: Dissolve the Parks Naming & Memorials Committee Ad Hoc Committee until a time in which a new Committee is required to conduct Commission business. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Request approval of the November 9, 2022 meeting minutes from the remaining Commissioners of the 2022 term. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS 1. Recap of the Opening of Memorial Hall and 17th Street Park on December 3, 2022 2. Upcoming Boards, Commissions & Committees (BCC) Reception & Onboard Training – Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 5:00 PM, Civic Center Lower Level 3.
